New research has highlighted some hard hitting facts against the misconception that “because you are in the water you don’t need to drink water”. As a result, the Waterman is becoming increasingly recognized as a revolutionary new tool for providing the one litre of liquid needed per one hour you SUP or Surf.
For SUP riding the custom designed ‘chest plate’ holds the backpack securely in place while remaining entirely non-restrictive for arm paddle motions. For surfing the Waterman’s chest plate combines with the streamlined ‘limpet’ profile to secure the backpack with minimal drag especially while duck-diving.
New product refinements include an increased 2 litre bladder capacity. Also a convenient new ‘soft bite’ valve reduces the need for hand operation.
Big enough to store basic essentials without weighing you down, the Waterman is also a great way of carrying food, keys, phone (in a waterproof pouch), wax, sunscreen and other small essential / safety supplies at all times while on the water.

what the experts say... |
 |

"...carrying heavy bags slung over one shoulder....can lead to long term muscle
strain, distortion of the natural S curve of the spine and rounding of the shoulders."
Sarah Nelson, Waikato Times June 2004.

*Traditionally surfers carry their boards under one arm which loads the thoracic
and cervical spine, shoulder, elbow and wrist joints down that side as well as placing
the muscles involved in a constrained, loaded position. Due to the shape and size
of surfboards it is impractical to carry them with the weight spread evenly through
the mid-line. The boardcarry backpack spreads the load across the upper body, reduces
load and static muscle contraction on the "carrying" side and arm, and if used correctly
should thus assist to reduce injuries to these areas. Gill Watson NZROT NZAOT
